Jeff, US Army, Panama 1989, was deployed to Panama during Operation Just Cause (in country for about five months), to assist with deposing the de facto leader General Noriega for drug trafficking back to the United States along with the clean up of weapons caches, drug caches, and Noriega loyalists. After the leader was deposed he was assigned to patrolling the streets of Panama with the local police and the Panamanian Defence Forces. The patrols consisted of two soldiers and two Panamanians to break up fights and loitering. One night while on patrol his team came upon a bar fight that had spilled into the street, one guy had gotten around to the back of Jeff and jumped him. The guy had Jeff in a stranglehold with his legs wrapped around Jeff’s waist, this lasted a little while, and Jeff was able to gain the advantage by grabbing the guy’s arm, jumping up, and falling backward. The guy’s head was now to the left side of Jeff and he heard a woosh of breath, somehow at that time Jeff spun out of the chokehold and was on top of the guy grabbing his neck and looking him dead in the eye. The guy was struggling and trying to fight Jeff off by swinging his arms but his swinging only hit Jeff in the arms, shoulders, and side area. Jeff was determined to win… Three or four years ago, he started to have flashback dreams and is unsure why. He has a tough time watching those Police and War shows/movies now, but can relax by saying it is not you to himself….
